One of the multiple sexual assault lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs was dismissed on Monday (March 31), as the Jane Doe’s claims of an assault at a 1995 party in New York City were not pursued further by the woman. Despite her attorney’s efforts to proceed anonymously, the judge denied this request due to a lack of evidence of harm from disclosing her identity. The woman had until March 20 to file an amended complaint with her real name, but failed to do so. “As a result, all pending motions were terminated, and the case has been formally closed,” read the order. Combs’ legal team applauded the dismissal, stating that the over 50 sexual misconduct lawsuits filed against the disgraced music mogul have been “pushed forward by attorneys more focused on media headlines than legal merit.” Combs is currently facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His trial is set to begin on May 5, and if convicted, he faces 15 years to life in prison. (Rolling Stone)
