Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter Tour stop in Chicago experienced a tumultuous start on Thursday (May 15) when severe weather delayed the concert for several hours, causing attendees at Soldier Field to seek shelter due to a tornado warning and intense thunderstorms. Video footage captured the extreme wind and rain that hit the area shortly before showtime, with fans finally allowed access to their seats at 9:15 p.m., though floor seating was not opened until 9:45 p.m. The weather cleared for Beyoncé’s two additional Chicago shows on Saturday and Sunday night (May 17-18). Officials in New Jersey are concerned about potential transit issues affecting Beyoncé’s upcoming performances at MetLife Stadium from May 22-29 due to a train engineer strike impacting NJ Transit. “Meadowlands service for the Beyonce concert remains TBD,” NJ Transit spokesperson John Chartier said, following the cancellation of rail and bus service to two Shakira concerts at MetLife Stadium on Thursday and Friday (May 15-16) that caused chaotic transportation delays surrounding the shows.
