A$AP Rocky has decided not to testify in his own defense in his firearm-assault trial. The rapper is facing charges of two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and after discussions with his lawyer, Rocky opted to invoke his Fifth Amendment right not to testify. His defense case then rested, with closing arguments scheduled for Thursday. Recent testimonies from two A$AP Mob members corroborated Rocky’s claim of carrying a prop gun during the incident three years ago. Terrell Ephron alleges that Rocky fired two bullets at him, claiming that one grazed his hand. Rocky maintains his innocence, accusing Ephron of being the aggressor and planting shell casings at the scene to strengthen the lawsuit against him. Despite his lawyer initially claiming that Rocky was looking forward to telling his side of the story, the defense team wants the rapper to avoid a harsh cross-examination that might discredit them with the jury.
