Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty of federal charges related to over $1 million in wire fraud, following a three-hour deliberation by the jury on Friday. Turner will remain in federal custody until her July sentencing, while Kingston faces house arrest and the requirement to post a bond of a $500,000 home and $200,000 in cash. According to Florida news outlet Local10, Kingston cried in court and said, “Protect my mother.” They are both set for sentencing on July 11 for their involvement in a “scheme to defraud victim sellers of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other goods purchased by the defendants.” The indictment alleges that they utilized false documents to deceive sellers, resulting in the theft of approximately $1 million worth of goods. Both Kingston and Turner face possible 20-year prison sentences for each of the six charge counts. (Rolling Stone)
