Reverend Willie Wade and Diablo Coleman invite the public to the Hot Springs Juneteenth Celebration taking place this Saturday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 112 Orange Street in Hot Springs. The celebration will include a historical reflection on the origins of Juneteenth and a keynote address from Reverend Dr. Chris Jones. This year’s theme is “We Are Not Going Back: Celebrate the Past, Preserving for Our Future.” Attendees can expect free food, health screenings, vendor resources, live entertainment, DJs, voter registration, and activities for all ages. Brother Larry Harris with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated is helping to lead the chapter’s Gun Buyback Program this Saturday at Saint Mark Baptist Church, located at 5722 West 12th Street in Little Rock. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Individuals can turn in a gun—no questions asked—and receive a gift card in exchange. Law enforcement will be present for the safe transition of firearms. Karen Evans, Sonya Writeout, Cassandra Hunter, and Ramona Elston will host a special support session for foster and adoptive families this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at St. Mark Baptist Church. This Ministry Family Remix event will offer resources, connection, and encouragement for those caring for children in foster care or through adoption. Foster care provides temporary placement for children when it is not safe for them to remain with their birth families, while adoption offers a lifelong, loving home.
