FRIDAY, November 15

President Obama has now pledged to delay the provision of the new health-reform law that led to the cancellation of as many as 10 million individual insurance policies.

The president announced that canceled insurance plans would be renewed for a year. The government will now allow insurers to continue offering policies that don’t meet the Affordable Care Act’s new higher standards, which will allow insurers to reinstate cancelled policies if they choose.

The president offered an apology for the flaws in the system, resolving to address the issues as they come up.

The investigation continues into an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead. It happened Thursday afternoon at a home in Mabelvale.

A woman reportedly asked officers to check on her boyfriend at his home after he threatened suicide. Police say when the officers opened the door, the male subject was inside of the house armed with a gun. The officers felt threatened and opened fire. The man was killed at the scene.

Both officers were placed on administrative leave as required by Department policy and the investigations are continuing.

At this time, no names are being released and no charges have been filed; they're still working on getting more information.

A pair of doctors have invented a silly-looking device that could someday save mens' lives. It's called the Robo Butt. Officially called "Patrick," the device is a realistic-looking fake behind attached to a flat-screen TV onto which a bent-over image of the butt's "owner" is projected.

It's designed to be a teaching tool for doctors to learn how to give a prostate exam. It's basically like an adult-themed Nintendo Wii that presents a realistic patient encounter.
