Russellville police said a young boy accidentally shot his father in the back while trying to climb into the family's truck.

This happened Saturday morning around 11 am in the Walmart parking lot. Officers say the child was getting into the father's pickup truck and tried to pull himself in by grabbing an unsecured shotgun. The firearm went off and wounded the man in the back. His condition is stable.

We're withholding the name of the father to protect the child's identity. The child was unhurt.

Food banks across the country are bracing for more people coming through their doors in the wake of cuts to the federal food stamp program.

Under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, a family of four that gets $668 per month in benefits will find that amount cut by $36. That may not sound like a lot to you, but it is to the families that receive it.

Food stamp benefits to 47 million Americans were cut starting Friday as a temporary boost to the federal program comes to an end without new funding from a deadlocked Congress.

Americans are now start figuring out that President Obama's health care law goes beyond political talk, and really does affect them and people they know.

With a glitchy federal website complicating access to new coverage, and some consumers being notified their existing plans are going away, there's a lot of anxiety and confusion. Fifty-five percent of people now say they have enough information to understand the law's impact on their family, up 8 percentage points in just one month.

President Obama is facing criticism because it's being reported his administration knew the program would have these problems as far back as three years ago.

In football, Dallas took a win any way they could get it over the Minnesota Vikings 27-23. Romo said he believed the Cowboys would win, even though they dropped at least five passes, the offensive line yielded three sacks and Romo's last pass had been intercepted. This performance against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. But hey, a W's a W.

The Chiefs are suddenly breathing easier after their defense kept Kansas City's perfect start intact, securing a 23-13 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Kansas City remain the NFL's only undefeated team at 9-0. The Chiefs now enter their bye week before a key showdown against the Denver Broncos Nov. 17.

In Arkansas, Bret Bielema pulled out every trick he could think of in an attempt to snap the Hogs' losing streak. However no trickery was enough to slow No. 11 Auburn in a 35-17 loss on Saturday night. That's six straight losses for the Razorbacks this year.
