An Atlanta man has pleaded not guilty to all charges stemming from the boating accident that killed 11-year-old Kile Glover, the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster. That's according to the Gainesville Times, which reports that Jeffrey Simon Hubbard is charged with homicide by vessel in the first degree, along with reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and boat traffic violation.
Kile was with his father, Bounce TV executive Ryan Glover, at the time of the wreck. Hubbard, who was a family friend, had joined the group on vacation, according to the Gainesville Times. Authorities believe that Kile suffered severe brain injuries when Hubbard's personal watercraft allegedly hit the boy, who was on an inflatable raft.
The indictment alleges that a teenager, Jordan Shepp, who was tubing with Kile, also suffered severe injuries to her left arm and scalp, according to the Gainesville Times.
Officials say that Hubbard violated a law requiring drivers of boats and personal watercraft to operate at no more than idle speed when they're within 100 feet of sitting objects or a person in the water.
If convicted of homicide by vessel or injury by vessel, Hubbard could face time in prison.
